Review Bad Assassins

Hey Sean, I just finished Bad Assassins, and wow, what a ride! Seriously, this whole Tower of Jack series has completely blown me away. It's been ages since I've encountered a LitRPG tower climber story that’s this much fun, and this one’s a real standout. You’ve crafted something truly special here. The blend of action, humor, and genuinely interesting characters keeps things fresh and exciting from beginning to end. Jack Atlas is such a relatable protagonist – flawed, sarcastic, and undeniably determined, even when his mana’s acting up! He's the kind of guy you can't help but root for, even when he's making questionable decisions (and let's be honest, he makes plenty).

I especially loved the cast of supporting characters. The goblin alchemist who ignores the rules – brilliant! Hannah’s unwavering loyalty provides a fantastic counterpoint to Jack’s chaotic energy, and the whole crew of “sketchy oddballs” feels genuinely unique and memorable. They’re not just tropes; each one feels like a fully-realized person with their own motivations and quirks, which makes their interactions so much more engaging. The way they all bounce off each other, creating this unpredictable dynamic, is what makes the action sequences so ridiculously fun. That goblin alchemist, again – pure gold. I'm already anticipating more of their shenanigans in future books!

The setting itself is fantastic. Broken Moon City, a sprawling undead metropolis, is so vividly described that I could almost feel the decay and chaos swirling around Jack and his companions. You’ve done a masterful job of building this world, making it feel lived-in and dangerous, yet also brimming with potential for hilarious encounters and unexpected twists. The "impossible" task of conquering the city is perfectly pitched; it's ambitious enough to keep you on the edge of your seat, but never feels overwhelming or out of reach for Jack and his crew. The constant threat of things going wrong keeps the tension high, and the way you weave in the challenges of the Tower itself adds another layer of complexity without ever feeling clunky.

Honestly, the whole thing just felt incredibly well-paced. The story never drags, and there's a constant sense of forward momentum, even during the quieter moments. You've clearly put a lot of thought and care into crafting this world and these characters, and it shows. This is exactly the kind of escapist fantasy I crave, and Bad Assassins delivers on every front. Seriously, keep up the amazing work – I’m already eagerly awaiting the next installment! This series has quickly shot to the top of my reading list, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Ten out of ten!
